Kyler Sterner
Props Artisan, Props Manager, Scenic Designer
I am an artist who was born and raised in Niagara Falls New York. My love for stage work began in 2010 when I was in the 6th grade. Our production of Bye Bye Birdie wasn’t anything spectacular, but the design work and building of scenery sparked a love for theatre that has never left me.
I was accepted to Niagara County Community College in 2017 for a Theatre Arts AS. I was the Props Manager on a couple productions such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Godspell, Pippin and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In 2019 I was given the opportunity to design JUVIE in a small black box style theatre. I received my Associates Degree in Theatre Arts in 2019.
I decided to pursue my design and prop work at SUNY Purchase. I was very lucky to be able to work in the Prop department as an artisan for shows like Helen, As you Like It, Twelfth Night, I was also privileged to work as the Prop Manager and Artisan on productions such as, Life Is A Dream, SWEAT, Good Goods, and Orestes. These productions really heightened my Prop work to a more professional level, as an artisan but especially as a manager of a crew. I was able to work on Barbecue as an Assistant Scenic Designer. The following year I Designed the set for Orpheus Descending. I received my BFA in Theatre Arts with a focus on Scenic Design in 2024.
I began working with David Stark Design and Production in 2023. I have worked several large events to set up and break down the scenery, and also in the studios to build the scenery before transporting to the event sight.
